Science - Intent, Implementation and Impact

INTENT

Our Science curriculum aims to create independent learners who are curious about the world around them; individuals who are confident enough to ask questions and search for answers.

IMPLEMENTATION

Science is taught weekly in discreet lesson which meet the requirements of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum. During Key Stage 2 learners revisit certain topics in order to embed and deepen understanding. The skill to work scientifically is developed across all of the topics.  Lessons are planned with support for the less-confident learners.   Visitors and STEM Week activities further enhance the learning experience for all of our children.

IMPACT

Our Science curriculum aims to equip our children with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully pursue Science learning to the next level at secondary school. Children are assessed against the age-related expectations of the National Curriculum requirements for Science.
