Curriculum

At Middlemarch we teach a broad and relevant curriculum which acknowledges the importance of Literacy and Numeracy whilst also promoting the wider creative subjects ensuring that pupils achieve their potential both academically and socially. Our curriculum is ambitious, designed to encourage children to embrace their natural curiosity to explore, question and understand the world around them. Reading is central to our curriculum design and allows children to broaden their experience of different genres, enrich their vocabulary and develop a love of reading for pleasure.

Lessons are designed to encourage an awareness and growth of essential life skills thus enabling children to develop into valuable citizens of their local and global community with an awareness and understanding of British values.

Children experience a variety of trips, visitors and residential opportunities as well as concerts, performances and productions deepening their learning, and creating lifelong memories of their journey with us.
